I am currently eating orange slices. Why? Because I was craving me some fruit! I often crave fruit. It's kinda strange. While some people want chocolate, I will happily go for apple slices, strawberries, or even just fruit juices. CranGrape is my favorite juice. Without high fructose corn syrup, of course, or else the health-factor is non-existent.
Anyway.
Today marks day two of being up outta bed and feeling alive. Last Monday, I woke up feeling really ill and with a fever. As the day progressed, it continued to climb. A visit to the doc on Tuesday (my second in a month, good grief) revealed that I had an upper respiratory infection. So, basically, I spent the week of Christmas feeling about as good as crud! I was unable to keep anything on my stomach and I just felt lousy. The doctor prescribed an antibiotic that I hear is more commonly referred to as a "Z-Pack" and some serious cough syrup again. I'm thinking my last infection never fully went away, thus, my cough was just awful. The Z-Pack is only a 5-day medication, so that's why I'm feeling WAY better today I'm sure. It was pretty awesome, but is part of why my stomach remained unsettled. It was a pretty large dosage, I guess.
Because I was sick, I spent Christmas Day as low-key as possible. We still gathered at my mom's for presents but I was pretty lazy about it. Then, yesterday, we spent the day in the mountains with my dad's side of the fam. It was pretty fun, and I was somewhat back to my normal self - even eating again. I used the word "fun" because the time spent actually at their cabin was, but I will have to detail the ride up there in a separate post. It will require humor and energy that I just do not have right now! :)
I'm hoping my energy will return quickly, actually, because right now I am in no mood to restore order to my house. I'm thinking my Christmas decor may just be around for a while longer. No shame in that, right? Especially when one is sick all through Christmas anyway, right? Right!
On that note, I'm off to continue being lazy.
