Killer Insomnia

I am experiencing some serious insomnia lately. It's only just now past midnight, but in the past week alone I just realized I've stayed up until 1, 2, and even 3 in the morning. Interestingly enough, once I do hit the hay, I find that it is very difficult for me to wake up and stay up. I have been known recently to stay up until 2am, sleep until noon, and then nap again for a couple of hours in that same day. This is highly unusual for me. I typically like to wake before 9am to start my day and try to head to bed well before midnight. I'm not sure what this means except that maybe it's another interesting part of being unemployed and without a set schedule.

Today was a rather dreary day. The fog was out of control! But rather than bum around at home, I headed out to the D to finalize my Christmas shopping. I did very well this year staying within a budget and being very thoughtful along the way if I do say so myself. I am so excited to give some of my gifts next week. We are running out of room under our tree (it's not a very large tree, so this was easy to do).

While out and about, I stopped in at Target where I ate a hot dog and had an Arctic Blast for lunch. I love those things. I guess they are like slushees? I'm not sure, but they are heavenly. It was a nice $1 perk up. I was lazy tonight and picked up a rotisserie chicken at the store for dinner. Drew and I then ate chips and cheese dip - it was random, but delicious. Bottom line, though, is that I didn't eat well today at all. This may also attribute to my odd sleeping patterns. A poor diet is not good. Coupled with next to no exercise makes it even worse. I need to rectify this immediately - a great statement to make just before the holidays when bad (but good) food is a necessity!

I guess I'm going to make myself go to sleep now. I have nothing planned for tomorrow, so I guess sleeping late is a possibility....I just hate to do that because I feel so useless as the day progresses! Here's to me being motivated!
